Your New RoleLocation - BirminghamNational Highways are recruiting for a Claims Handler to join our team. The Claims Handler is responsible for managing a portfolio of cases; working with a range of stakeholders to ensure the collation of robust information cost packs meets the quality standardrequired and claims are settled in a timely manner.What youll be working onResponsible for a portfolio of cases; working with a range of stakeholders to ensure claims are thoroughly investigated; supported with a wide range of evidence from all relevant sources to provide recommendations to the Claims Manager on resolutions.Work closely with the legal department and barristers to discover supporting evidence for claims, ensuring all decisions will withstand scrutiny and are compliant with regulations and legislation to protect National Highways.Responsible for thoroughly investigating cases to ensure all evidence is factual; responsible for direct contact with claimants, interrogating the claimants version of events; applying professional judgement and experience to support the resolution of cases.Work closely with insurers, service providers, Traffic officer service, ROC/RCC, inspectors, quantity surveyors, estimators, and area teams to obtain information to support case resolution in a timely manner.Successfully close cases either through negotiation with insurers and loss adjusters to agree settlement figures or by sending the Claims Manager recommendations on the best value outcome.Produce recommendations and reports for the Claims Manager, ensuring these are all recorded accurately for auditing purposes, providing robust arguments to aid decision making on individual cases.To be successfulDetailed understanding of the Highways Act and Road Traffic Act and the implications on National HighwaysExcellent negotiating skillsExperience of handling cases, including personal injury and insurance claims.Detailed understanding of case management.Detailed understanding of case law.Ability to work under pressure and prioritiseExcellent client management skillsAbout UsWhy you should join usAt National Highways we believe in a connected country.
