Do you have a passion for supporting children and young people who face various challenges in life Do you want to make a positive difference in their well-being and development If so, you might be the ideal candidate for our childrens residential supportworker role.Our client is looking for a childrens residential support worker to join their team at the children’s home in across Birmingham (Smethwick and Great Pall). Our client’s home provides a caring and supportive environment for up to four children and young peopleaged 10 to 16 who have social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.As a childrens residential support worker, you will be responsible for:• Providing daily support to the children and young people, including meal preparation, medication administration, and household chores• Building positive and trusting relationships with the children and young people, acting as a role model and mentor• Supporting the children and young people with their education, hobbies, and interests, encouraging them to achieve their goals and aspirations• Working as part of a team to ensure the safety and welfare of the children and young people, following policies and procedures, and reporting any concerns• Participating in regular training and supervision to enhance your skills and knowledgeTo be successful in this role, you will need to have:• A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification, or be willing to work towards it• Experience working with children and young people or working adults with challenging behaviour• A good understanding of the needs and challenges of children and young people in the care face• A compassionate, patient, and resilient attitude, with the ability to cope with challenging situations• A flexible and adaptable approach to work, including the ability to work shifts, weekends, and bank holidaysIn return, we offer:• A competitive salary of £24k per annum, depending on experience and qualifications• A comprehensive induction and training programme• Opportunities for career progression and developmentPlease note this post is subject to enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory background checks.
