Job Description

Role: Chief Technology OfficerSalary: £90,000 - £130,000Location: Birmingham - Hybrid workingCX Squared Talent Solutions are the exclusive talent partner to a new fintech business that are building an entity from scratch in Birmingham.Having considered a number of cities around the country, Birminghams thriving tech and start-up scene was a key factor in making the decision to build their new fintech business here.You will be the first tech person in the business and will be responsible for driving the product vision and technology roadmap for the organisation. Due to the nature of the projects and B2B environment, we would ideally want you to be a hands-on CTO whenyou join, due to the demand for the product.The ideal candidate will have experience working in a start-up/scale-up environment and will be responsible for:

  • Aligning the companys strategic and technology roadmap
  • Managing multiple products and projects with ever changing priorities
  • Taking ownership for the QA strategy whilst aligning QA and Engineering together to ensure a holistic, cross functional approach to Software Engineering
  • Scaling teams across Product, QA and Software Development whilst ensure a smooth, collaborative process at all times
  • Monitoring the latest trends in technology in order to maintain a competitive advantage
  • Working to ensure that the customer journey and vision is at the forefront of the technology team at all times
Your role will include product architecture, product development & management, technology identification and selection, people management and development, cost and budget management, setting direction and strategy as well as continued focus on on-going maintenanceand support. This includes strategy execution, recruitment and staff management.The technology stack:Due to the custom nature of the fintech products they build, the tech stack includes a variety of technologies including:Node.JS / PHP/ MySQL / Firebase / Redis / KafkaThey want you to help work with their off-shore development team to understand what technologies should be prioritised and developed whilst assessing what skills are needed internally moving forward.The business is a chilled and flexible culture where they have an open door policy and flat structure.
