Job Description

Job Title: Category Manager - Technology (3 Month Contract)Salary: £250 - £350 per day inc. on costsLocation: (B15) Midland Heart, Bath RowWorking Week: 2 days a week, (can increase to 3 to 4 days as Procurement activity increases)Midland heart are looking to recruit a Category manager on an initial 3 month contract, with the potential to be extended, to lead on the Procurement of key technology projects, ensuring compliance with Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and Value for money is achieved, whilst providing appropriate guidance, support and technical advice as required.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Attend steering group meetings, representing Procurement.
  • Work with Project Managers to plan Procurement activity.
  • Facilitate the Procurement activity within e-tendering system to include supporting business with writing of tender packs, (requirements, bid rules, evaluation criteria, etc.)
  • Supporting bid evaluations, moderation and awards.
  • Providing constructive feedback on technical specifications produced through use of existing technical knowledge, and engaging early with the external supply market, existing contractors and internal and external customers.
    • Skills & Abilities
  • Must be MCIPS qualified, working towards CIPS qualification or have a minimum of 5 relevant years’ experience as a Technology Buyer.
  • A sound knowledge of procuring technology-related goods, services and works.
  • Knowledge of commercial terms utilised within ICT/Technology contracts.
  • Knowledge of Public Contracts Regulations 2015 is essential.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills with the ability to encourage and influence others.
