Job Description

Job Title: CAD TechnicianCompany: Leading Demolition CompanyLocation: Birmingham, UKPosition Type: Full-time, PermanentA leading UK-based demolition company is expanding and needs a talented CAD Technician to join their expanding team based in Birmingham. This role is crucial in supporting their continued growth and delivering exceptional results.As a CAD Technician, you will have a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating high quality designs. This role will be reporting into the Operations Director and the main responsibility will be to create technical drawings to support the contracts andtender submission team.The responsibilities of the CAD Technician will include:

  • Create drawings using various software including Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, SketchUp Pro, and Autodesk AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with the Contracts Director and teams in Production andPre-contract to:
    • Assist in tender and PQQ submissions and presentations.
    • Prepare technical, programming, and sequencing drawings for tender submissions.
    • Prepare technical, programming, and sequencing drawings during on-site works.
  • Maintain effective communication within the business at all levels.
  • Conduct site visits during tender, pre-contract, and post-contract stages.
The skills/experience required for the CAD Technician role:
  • Previous experience in a design-related role, ideally within the construction industry
  • Experience using Auto CAD, Adobe or similar design software to create 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Excellent IT skills including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the business
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Understanding of ASTA Power Project programming software (desirable)
  • Working knowledge of demolition, asbestos removal, remediation, and construction (desirable)
