Job Description

BuyerBirminghamA well-established, professional Sheet Metal Manufacturing company are seeking a Buyer to join their team in Birmingham on a Permanent basis. Paying a starting salary of £26,000 - £30,000 per annum (Dependent on experience).Our client established in 1967 are industry leaders in manufacturing a diverse range of precision sheet metal components, predominantly into the Automotive industry. They provide a variety of solutions and pride themselves on keeping the majority of themanufacturing process in house.They are now looking for a Buyer to join their growing commercial team. This role focuses on purchasing and supplier relationships. Working as the Buyer your will be a key point of contact with our suppliers and has full responsibility for making sure thatall production materials are available.Buyer duties and responsibilities:

  • Purchasing to contractsWorking with all departments in the business to ensure all materials are available when required and in the correct quantities.
  • Setting up Kanban systems for repeat requirements
  • Liaising and negotiating with all suppliersIncluding supplier meetings/visits
  • Producing KPI (Key Performance Indicator) information for purchasing activities
The ideal Buyer will have:
  • Must have previous experience working in a Buyer role or similar Purchasing role.
  • Must be able to read an engineering drawing.
  • Must have Good Analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have good Communication skills.
  • Must be Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Good housekeeping
  • Experience with Radan E2i (Advantageous)
  • Knowledge of sheet metal materials and the manufacturing processes associated such as laser cutting, press braking and welding. (Advantageous)
Working Hours: MondayThursday 7am4pm Friday 7am12pmPay Rate:£26,000 - £30,000 per annum
