Job Description

Becoming a Business Analyst within Capita Health and Welfare - PIP DWPAbout the role:As a Business Analyst you will serve as the liaison between the customer community, the business and the technical development team. This person will be responsible for eliciting, analysing, validating, specifying, verifying, and managing the business needs of the project stakeholders, including customers, the business and end users. You will work closely with business units, subject matter experts and technical colleagues to identify business needs, capture processes, define projects, develop requirements and manage the development effort to completion.DWP/DfC will mean that work might take you to work from client sites in following locations: Birmingham, Blackpool, Manchester, Sheffield or LondonWhat youll be doing:

  • Produce timely, cost effective and high quality solutions to improve current processes or implement new ones, on the basis of analysis, business knowledge and sound personal judgement.
  • Independently gather, analyse and synthesise complex data and information including business strategy, objectives and processes.
  • Produce Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) documents.
  • Develop business requirements and documentation, applying quality standards to all tasks. Work with Systems Analysts and Solutions Architects to develop requirements into functional requirements and into technical specifications through to solution.
  • Ability to develop decision criteria that is used to solve business issues and evaluate solutions.
  • Acquire understanding of a problem or situation by breaking it down systematically into its component parts and identify the relationships between these parts.
  • Use established methodologies to work with staff to investigate and quantify project impacts and to identify cross-project and cross-functional dependencies and then plan accordingly.
  • Undertake analysis and estimate impact a project will have on business, employees and customers and recommend the most equitable solution (impact assessments)
  • Interact at all levels of the organisation, communicating project related decisions outside the project team.
  • What were looking for:
  • Previous Business Analyst experience OR 2 years Capita PIP experience.
  • Able to produce Use cases, Entity Diagrams, Process Maps, PDDs and Business Requirements with ease.
  • Strong customer facing skills. Must be comfortable and confident with clients at all levels.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong organisational, time management and leadership skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and supportively with others, able to lead and motivate teams working on projects.
  • Desirable Experience/Skills:
  • ISEB BA Accreditation or similar (e.g. CBAP)
  • Qualification in PRINCE2 to Foundation level
  • System Analyst experience
