We are looking to recruit a Maintenance/ Caretaker on a temporary basis to provide maintenance support to a student accommodation site.Hours: Monday to Friday 9AM to 7PMStart Date: Looking to start ASAPLocation: BirminghamPay: £12.82 per hour paid weekly every Friday**These positions are pending DBS and compliance checks (paid by Brook Street)**THE ROLEWorking as a Maintenance/ Caretaker youll be working on 1 site providing maintenance support within a student accommodation site and will be responsible for the buildings maintenance working part of a team ensuring the buildings health and safety.You will need to be physically fit as this role require you to be on your feet most of the day and you will be expected to complete some heavy lifting duties.TYPICAL DAILY JOB DUTIES - WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR- Ensure the environment is maintained and kept in a clean & orderly manner- General basic maintenance duties such as unblocking sinks and toilets, repairing door handles, cleaning light fittings and replacing where necessary minor parts such as tubes, bulbs and diffusers- Where specialist / expert tradespeople are needed: contacting and making site visit arrangements; getting quotes as necessary- Undertake grounds maintenance duties such as street sweeping, litter picking, leaf clearance- Undertake office furniture moves and the setup of rooms- Recognise pests, diseases and weeds and control using correct materials and equipment following COSHH regulations- Monitor the CCTV and alarm systems, test the fire alarm systems- Respond to emergency situations and provide first responder actions- Enter and maintain data electronically or manually as required including daily reports-Perform emergency light fitting, monthly testing, maintenance, inspections and like for like replacements as required-Perform weekly fire alarm testing-Perform reactive joinery and building fabric maintenance such as lock repairs, door hanging, hinge replacement, fixing noticeboards, small painting and decorating tasks-Perform reactive plumbing maintenance such as tap washers, toilet seat replacement, tightening leaking joints-Any other repair work that does not require a qualified trades person-Use company electronic systems and procedures to identify work, produce and close work orders, assess fault history and produce reports where required to the manager and Estates ManagersPERSON SPECIFICATION- Comfortable in completing a DBS security check (paid by Brook Street)- Previous experience in providing high quality building and minor maintenance service- Excellent customer service- Ability to identify potential risks and undertake risk assessments- Ability to meet tight deadlines- First aid, Fire Warden and IOSH certificates would be ideal but not essential- Willingness to undertake training including: First Aid, Health and Safety, Fire Warden***PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU MATCH THE PERSON SPECIFICATION AND ARE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE THIS VIA YOUR CV AND IN INTERVIEW***PACKAGE AND BENEFITS-Attractive pension-On site free parking-Paid weekly every FridayDOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOUAny questions please call Amelia on OR ***If you have not received a response within 48 hours, unfortunately your CV has not been selected on this occasion***
