Job Description

Building and Fabric EngineerLocation: The Harborne HospitalContract Type; Permanent, full time 37.5 hours,shift patterns will be days between 8am – 4.30pmSalary range:Up to £34,000 per annumAbout the facility:The Harborne Hospital - part of HCA Healthcare UK is a brand new £100million, purpose built 50 bed, multi-speciality private hospital opening in Birmingham in 2023. Located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus, the hospital will have the deepclinical infrastructure, equipment and facilities and expert, experienced teams to deliver full clinical pathways across a mix of specialties and sub-specialties at all levels of complexity including Cardiology, Cancer and Complex Surgery including roboticswith the latest Da Vinci XI. The Harborne Hospital is the 4th NHS partnership within this network, partnering with University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust.We have a brilliant opportunity for a Building Services Engineer to join the Harborne Hospital. You will be responsible for providing a first class building maintenance service to the hospital, including repairs & maintenance, PPM and projects.Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Wallpaper hangers, apply decorative fabric, vinyl or paper coverings to building interiors. Coverings are typically applied to walls, but in some instances, they may also be applied to ceils.
  • Painting, applies various finishes to building, rooms or other structures, including, primers or sealers, Prepares, cleans and tapes all work areas. Remove old paint coating, if necessary, Mixes colours or oil obtain desired colour or consistency.
  • To be able to replace damaged locks or install, notice board, and carry out small works throughout the hospital.
  • General maintenance of all sites as necessary.
  • Checking light lamps / changing cleaning and ensure stock levels.
  • Experience of DIY to include changing fuses/light bulbs/unblocking sinks & toilets etc.
Skills & Experience:
  • Experience as a professional painter and decorator with high level wallpapering skills.
  • NVQ or City & Guilds qualifications with general handyman skills - carpentry, fitting locks.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
