BEMS Control EngineerPaying up to £42,155 depending on experienceDay shift, 48 days holiday per year + additional benefits!Are you an experience BEMS Control Engineer with Schneider Sigma / Eco structure System experience looking for a fantastic new opportunity with fabulous benefits If so a leading University in Birmingham are looking for BEMS Control Engineer working days tojoin them on a permanent basis!Paying an attractive salary of up to £42,155 depending on experience this role offers 48 days holidays and other additional benefits!Reporting to the BEMS Control Manager your duties will include:" Maintain and operate the Building and Energy Management "BEMS" control systems throughout the estate." Ensuring the systems perform to optimum capabilities, maintain environmental and comfort conditions and that energy use and environmental impact is minimised while improving systems reliability and functionality." To provide a responsive and efficient technical service, by applying expert skills and knowledge to test, service, adjust, upgrade and fault find on the campus wide control systems and provide specialist technical advice to colleagues and other departments." To be proactive in identifying potential control system software and hardware issues that may lead to unnecessary failure of services, thereby minimising disruption and inconvenience to building occupants." To be proactive in identifying changes to control strategy and equipment use in relation to carbon and energy savings." Undertaking regular service and maintenance inspections of control systems and analysis of collected statistical data to identify risks and opportunities for improvement." A proactive approach, based on collated data, alarms and report analysis, to reduce the implications of service interruptions to the University." Ensure, by maintaining and monitoring its use and correcting as necessary, that the BEMS is used effectively to control the environment in buildings within university and statutory requirements." Carry out additions, upgrades and expansion to the Universitys control systems, covering all software / control strategy, creation of graphics, configuration and commissioning of control outstations / hardware, computer / IT equipment and communication infrastructure." Fault diagnosis and repair / replacement of control and BEMS devices." Fault diagnosis and repair / replacement of dedicated BEMS operational technology network." Creation and maintenance of BEMS logging data sets, alarms filters, report filters and databases used for reports and information to support both statutory compliance monitoring and energy auditing of properties" Using analysis of data, technical skills and experience ensure best practices in the management of energy and water and opportunities for revising the operation or replacement of plant to reduce consumption are implemented. Improving the monitoring and controlof systems to ensure areas are not over or under heated or cooled, limiting plant operational times where practical." Identify requirements for backlog maintenance of the BEMS systems and support funding bids." Management of contractors undertaking projects and / or maintenance of the BEMS systems." Undertake and apply risk assessments and other procedures to manage/mitigate hazards. Implement and manage local and University safety policies." Act as Authorised Person to control safe working practices applicable to competence as business needs.Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience" Educated to Degree level (or equivalent qualifications) or relevant technical qualification and considerable relevant experience. Where no equivalent qualification is held, significant practical relevant experience and expertise in a series of more demandingroles will be required demonstrating the conceptual understanding required." broad knowledge and substantial functional experience across a range of control strategies, including design, commissioning, servicing, programming, and management of systems, preferably within a large / diverse estate." qualification in electrical installation and practice." ability to identify controls hardware/device problems/defects and develop/implement solutions autonomously" ability to identify embedded software problems/defects with control strategies and develop/implement solutions autonomously" ability to provide specialist technical advice relating to present and future maintenance requirements" ability to identify, diagnose and analyse complex problems; ability to solve them, using specialist methods and innovative ideas as required" ability to design, specify, plan, prepare costs and deliver enhancements and upgrades of control systems, tailored to the buildings and/or services involved" ability to communicate clearly on highly technical issues, whether with audiences of other specialists, non-specialists, or senior University Officers" capable of developing, organising and carrying out training modules (e.g. for building users) in relation to control systems" first class organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise both their own and others workloads, successfully balancing the reactive and proactive elements of the role, and able to react readily to immediate problems and emergencies" excellent skills in control scheme and strategy design, and the ability and experience to apply these skills." high degree of IT literacy" high level competency for TCP/IP network design, support and fault diagnosis" Specific control system experience and knowledge requirement (configuration, programming, commissioning, and servicing of software and hardware)Should you be an experienced BEMS Control Engineer with Schneider Sigma / Eco structure System experience and want to work for an excellent university please call Hayley Whitehead at Pertemps Birmingham Industrial Hagley Court or click apply today!
