Job Description

Behaviour Mentor Location: Birmingham (B1)Salary: £90 - £110 per dayJob type: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:15am- 3:45pmStart date: Monday 20th November 2023End Date: July 2024LTF Recruitment specialises in long term to permanent placements in education settings. We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a secondary school located in the Birmingham B1 area. The successfulcandidate will provide behavioural support to promote students progress both academically and pastorally.The role/ responsibilities:

  • Provide daily support under direction of the Inclusion & Behaviour Manager
  • Work with students on a 1-1 basis, understanding any needs that they have and ensuring that the young person is able to access learning material
  • Create and build strong relationships with the young people you work with, providing effective support
  • Ensure that students are progressing socially, emotionally and academically
  • Support teaching staff with appropriate strategies when dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Keep track of student progress whilst considering targets and goals for improvement
Experience/ requirements:
  • A relevant qualification/degree
  • Previous experience involving working with children/young people with Special Educational Needs
  • Have a genuine interest in education and supporting students to develop and achieve
