Job Description

Job Title: Bar & Front of House StaffSalary: £9.50 - £11.50 p/hLocation: Birmingham City Centre & MoseleyHancoxRead Recruitment and proud to be working alongside Birmingham City Council and Civic Catering to recruit confident, dynamic, and experienced bar staff to join our team working at both venues at The Council House, Vitoria Square, Birmingham & HighburyHall in Moseley.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and serving high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Using a till to take orders and process payments
  • Checking customers identification and age verification
  • Engaging with customers and advising them about current promotions
  • Maintaining a clean and organised bar area, including quickly responding to spills and other health and safety hazards
  • Serving food and snacks
  • Clearing tables, wiping surfaces, and operating the dishwasher to ensure ample glassware is available
Skills & Abilities:
  • Customer service skills, including being knowledgeable about products to assist customers best
  • Enjoy working with others and be able to cooperate as part of a team with a keen eye for detail.
  • Active listening skills and a good memory for remembering different orders from different customers, with the ability to keep a calm demeanour to deal with demanding customers.
  • Ability to carry out basic order processing and payment tasks on a till or a handheld device
  • The ability to work well in a noisy, high-pressure environment with the ability to multitask and remain organised during a busy period.
  • A driving license is advantageous, but not necessary.
