Blackstone Recruitment are working with a NHS Trust who are recruiting for a Band 8b Principal Clinical / Practitioner Psychologist based in Birmingham.This is a Locum role, to start ASAP for a duration of 3 months.Job Summary1. To provide clinical placements and supervision for Trainee Clinical, Health and/or Counselling Psychologists, ensuring that trainees acquire the necessary skills, competencies and experience to contribute effectively to good psychologicalcare and to contribute to the assessment and evaluation of such competencies. Specifically in the area of Neuro diversity.2. To provide post-qualification training (CPD) and clinical professional supervision to recently qualified Clinical, Health and/or Counselling Psychologists attached to the team.3. To provide advice, consultation and training and clinical supervision to other members of the Neurodevelopmental service for their provision of psychologically based interventions to help improve children functioning.4. To maintain and develop skills in the area of professional pre- and post-graduate training and clinical supervision.5. To provide advice, consultation and training to staff working with the Neuro diverse client group across a range of agencies and settings, where appropriate. .Clinical 1. To provide specialist highly complex formal and informal psychological assessments of children referred to the team based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex psychological data from a variety of sources including psychologicaland neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with children, family members and others involved in the clients care. Examples of formal assessments are ADOS, ADIR,CARS22. To develop highly complex formulations and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a childs highly complex psychological problems, including family breakdown, serious mental illness, child/sexual abuse and aggressiveand violent behaviour, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the childs problems, using advanced and practical knowledge of a range of work procedures and practises across the full range of care settings, where frequent and intense concentrationis required.3. To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisionalhypotheses.4. To use advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of a range of complex work procedures and clinical practices, including that of SEND processes and education agenda. To have specialist knowledge over more than one discipline acquired over a significantperiod of time. 5.
