Job Description

Key SkillsEssentialAt least 2 years experience undertaking fire risk assessmentsLevel 3 Certificate in Fire Safety or equivalentExcellent communication skills, adept on the use of MS Office suite and internet and the ability to effectively work remotelyDesirableNEBOSH Fire Safety, Level 4 Certificate / Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety or equivalentReports toHead of Fire SafetySalary£350 per day + fuel (2 visits/reports).Hours of workFlexible / to be agreedWe are a fast-growing Health & Safety and Fire consultancy, based in Northamptonshire.With a large and diverse portfolio of Clients across the UK, who operate in a wide range of industries and sectors including construction, manufacturing, education, logistics, and professional services, you will enjoy a varied work routine.Main Purpose of the RoleAs a fire safety associate, you will be responsible for carrying out fire risk assessments across a diverse range of premises.Core areas of Work and AccountabilitiesTechnical Skill and Knowledge

  • Experience of conducting fire risk assessments in a wide range of premises.
  • An IFE, IFSM, or IFPO, or similar accreditation on a Fire Risk Assessors register (desirable).
  • Ability to use fire safety guidance documents, British Standards, and approved documents.
  • Evidence of Professional Indemnity Insurance (minimum £1m) for fire safety consultancy and fire risk assessments.
  • Be committed to maintaining continuous professional development (CPD) within the fire safety sector.
Ideal candidate specifications; skills and experience
  • Evidence of working as a fire safety adviser either as a consultant or as an employed adviser across a wide range of industries or in an enforcement capacity.
  • Excellent communication skills. Clear, precise, and concise in writing and orally.
  • Capable of working remotely with regular visits to client sites and working to deadlines.
  • Highly organised, efficient, and effective at managing own workloads.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and enthuse people.
  • To be a team player and able to contribute to development of the team.
  • Adept in use of MS Office suite and internet. Experience of online platforms, cloud based systems and tablets.
  • We are looking for someone who is passionate about fire safety and providing professional well written reports.
  • Must have a clean driving licence and own vehicle to attend client visits.
Due to the nature of the work of some of our clients, the successful candidate will be required a yearly Enhanced DBS checkOther Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support consultants and clients with fire safety training as required (desirable)
