Job Description

Assistant BuyerAre you experienced in the purchasing / Buying sector We are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our Birmingham based Automotive Engineering Client.As Assistant Buyer your primary role is to support and assist the companies Procurement Manager in all duties related to purchasing, stock control and pricing.For this role you will ideally need buying, purchasing, procurement, negotiation and administration experienced coupled with a strong personality.This role is office based and an excellent telephone manner and communication skills are a must. This is an exciting time to join the company as they are going through a restructure and there are opportunities for future career progression.West Midlands - Birmingham (West) Salary - £30,000 to £35,000 dependant on experience + Pension + BenefitsThe Candidate & Role

  • Ideally come from a Procurement, Buying, Stock Control background
  • Have Automotive, Engineering, Technical Buying / procurement experience
  • You will need Buying, Procurement, Purchasing, Negotiation, Pricing and Stock Control experience
  • Must have good communication / negotiating skills - telephone, verbal, written
  • Fully computer literate to keep all procurement / ordering systems updated and accurate
  • Be team orientated as your primary role is to support the Procurement Manager
  • Be able to deputise for the Procurement Manager as and when required - holidays etc
  • Be able to Stock Forecast
  • Make sure stock levels are properly maintained
  • Build relationships to maintain existing supplier
  • Search out and find new suppliers
  • Pricing negotiations and Price forecasting
  • Raise, Check and Authorise Purchase orders
  • Track Orders and Chase Back Orders
  • Maintain and keep procurement files and price lists updated
