Job Description

ASD Teaching Assistant | Saltley, B8 | Full TimeWe are looking for multiple Teaching Assistants to work within an independent school located in B8. The students you will be supporting have ASD and sensory processing needs, to learn as effectively as possible, both independently and in different groupsituations. The Teaching Assistant would be expected to work with pupils on a one-to-one basis, in addition to assisting within group sessions. This long-term position is available to start in January 2023, working on a long-term contract for the full academicyear, with the potential to become a permanent role during the placementThe school are looking to appoint someone who:

  • Is a competent teaching assistant with at least one years experience
  • Has an understanding of supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis
  • Can be an excellent team player with fantastic communication skills
  • Is capable of leading small group interventions and supporting children 1:1
  • Will be reliable and a friendly face to the children and staff
  • Is dedicated to working with children and raising attainment
The main duties of this role are:
  • Working with KS1 pupils, supporting in the classroom
  • Providing 1:1 support and small group work
  • Leading small group interventions with children working below age expected levels
  • Liaising with the class teachers around progress of the children
