Job Description

Area Sales Manager - Plumbing & Heating and Water HeatersJob Title: Area Sales Consultant - Plumbing & Heating/ Water Heaters Industry Sector: HVAC, M&E, hot water solutions, continuous flow water heat systems, hot water systems, air source heat pumps, storage tank, Hydrogen, water treatment, solar, solar thermal, gas water heaters, twin flow, heat pumps, heating radiators and waterheatersArea to be covered: MidlandsRemuneration: £40,000-£45,000 basic + £10,000-£20,000 Bonus Benefits: Hybrid Company Car + Comprehensive BenefitsThe role of the Area Sales Manager - Plumbing & Heating and Water Heaters will involve:

  • Field sales role promoting a manufactured and distributed range of gas water heaters, storage solutions, electric water heaters, air source heat pumps and solar thermal systems
  • Targeting commercial projects where there is a large water consumption such as; schools, sports & leisure, hotels, care homes, food & beverage, restaurants, salons etc
  • Majority of your time growing relationships with M&E contractors, plumbing & heating contractors/ installers on patch
  • One to two site meetings/ surveys per week
  • 60% of your time managing circa 50-80 M&E contractor relationships, 40% new business development with new contractors/ installers
  • Looking after a number of existing and historical transactional accounts, developing new opportunities and managing an abundance of reactive enquiries received in house.
  • £500,000 revenue target
  • Growth area for the business in in the heat pumps
  • Typical order values up to £20,000
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Plumbing & Heating and Water Heaters experience with:
  • Commercial HVAC field sales background from the plumbing & heating industry
  • Must have HVAC field sales experience with M&E contractors or plumbing contractors
  • Ideally HVAC technically minded
  • Ideally knowledge of hot water circuits, gas flues +/or boilers, confident in a plant room environment to be able to identify the need and match the clients / contractors requirements to the correct products.
  • Knowledge of gas water heaters, air source heat pumps, storage solutions, gas fired and solar thermal systems is not essential as full product training will be provided
  • Excellent listening skills
