Job Description

Area Sales Manager - Generator SolutionsJob Title: Business Development Manager - Generator SolutionsIndustry Sector: Service Contracts, Maintenance Contracts, Generator sales, generator service & maintenance, contingency power, load bank testing, fuel services, generator control systems, retail, hospitals, distribution, M&E contractors, data centre’s, NHS, construction sites, main contractors etc.Area to be covered: National - based between the M62 and M4 corridorsRemuneration: £35,000-£40,000 Neg. + £25,000 uncapped commissionBenefits: Executive Car, pension & full benefitsThe role of the Area Sales Manager - Generator Solutions will involve:

  • Field sales position, promoting predominantly stand alone generator services such as installations and maintenance, as well as the sale of generator core capital equipment
  • Utilising your own network of contacts and experience to identify, bid and secure new sales
  • Selling into Facilities Managers/ Supervisors, Electrical Maintenance Engineers, Operations Managers, Buyers, Project Managers, Contract Managers, MD’s, Site Foremen etc.
  • 75% new business development role, 25% account development position
  • Tasked with achieving £1m
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with customers
  • Typical projects include hospitals, data centres, Retail, Distribution, NHS and the M&E marketplace
  • Identifying correct technical specifications and accurately issuing quotations
  • Project sizes typically up to £50,000, can be £200,000+
  • Dealing with queries, creating and presenting project quotations
  • Occasional overnight stays may be required
  • The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Generator Solutions with:
  • 2 years+ experience selling generator solutions such as service contracts and maintenance agreements
  • Proactive new business hunter/ killer
  • On the up in career/ fire in the belly
  • Technically proficient
  • Ideally working for a competitor
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Well organised
  • Ideally with a network of industry contacts
  • Comfortable travelling to clients sites
