Job Description

Area Sales Manager - Formwork, Groundwork and Civil EngineeringJob Title: Area Sales Manager - Formwork, Groundwork and Civil EngineeringIndustry Sector: Hire Sales, Infrastructure, Civil Engineering, Heavy Duty Propping, Heavy Duty Needling, Heavy Duty Shoring, Construction, Formwork & Falsework, Main Contractors, Specialist Formwork & Falsework and Concrete Frame Sub-ContractorsArea to be covered: MidlandsRemuneration: £35,000-£40,000 + £10,000-£15,000 BonusBenefits: Car or £500 car allowance + full benefits packageThe role of the Formwork, Groundwork and Civil Engineering Area Sales Manager will involve:

  • Field sales position within the RMI (repair, maintenance & installation) and civils sector
  • Selling the hire of; heavy-duty propping, needling, formwork, falsework etc.
  • 70% contractor focussed role; main contractor and specialist sub contractor accounts such as concrete frame contractor, civil and specialist formwork & falsework
  • 30% consulting engineers
  • Tasked with achieving a DHR (daily hire rental) targeted or approx. £3,000 per day
  • Budget for the area circa £750,000 (90% hire, 5% hire sales and 5% ex-hire sales)
  • Area was 30% below budget last year, but is currently tracking above budget expectation this year
  • Average order value of circa £10,000 but can be as large as £100,000
  • 70% new business focussed, 30% account management position
    • The ideal applicant will be a Formwork, Groundwork and Civil Engineering Area Sales Manager with:
  • Heavy duty or civil engineering associated product field sales background such as; formwork, falsework, propping, needling, trenching, piling etc
  • Solution sales/ value engineering (don’t sell on price)
  • Comfortable with a technical sell
  • Contacts within main contractors and specialist civil & concrete frame sub contractors may be beneficial
  • Mix of construction and engineering backgrounds preferred
