Job Description

We are seeking a career-driven Agency Account Manager, to support our clients growing client services team, and accelerate through a focussed training and development path to Account Director within 12-18 months.For any Account Manager that really wants to join an agency that is thriving, and in a market that is very secure, then we would highly recommend you consider this genuine opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of Strategic Corporate Communications, working with leading household name brands. The salary depends on experience (£27 - £30k) and is based In Birmingham (post lockdown) and the salary once at AD level is extremely attractive indeed!Our Client Our client is very well established, and houses approx. 50 agency people across creative, consultancy, project management, account direction and development. They work with enterprise-level clients, producing high-end corporate communications, providing clarity and engagement through design and storytelling.Their solutions are underpinned by the depth of research, insight, and strategic planning. The creative output is realised through high-end corporate reports, websites, video, and more. You really get a sense of the strategic focus at this agency, as well as a very happy and motivated team.Their portfolio of clients is currently looked after by 3 Account Directors, with project delivery through a Project Manager, Consultant, creative and artworking studio. Due to the nature of the relationships they have with their clients (and the senior standing of those individuals), they are required to get very close to their clients and develop strong relationships.Due to consistent growth, the agency is creating an Account Management function that will allow for succession planning. This role will take the day to day account management from the Account Directors, whilst working towards becoming an AD within 12-18 months.As this agencys competitive advantage is in their thinking around the message and, whilst their consultancy team are primarily responsible for this, the best Account Managers and Account Directors need to be very well informed too. As a result, the successful candidate will spend 4 to 6 months learning as part of the consultancy team. This is to ensure that the Account Manager:

  • Has strong knowledge and understanding of investor relations and corporate communications before working with clients
  • Is better equipped to solve client challenges and commercialise those solutions
  • Is able to work with the team at a level of understanding commensurate with our competitive advantage
  • Is well set up to accelerate to AD level within 12-18 months
  • The Role Projects are mostly large and long, typically 4-7 months in nature. Specific responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for client communication and client experience
  • Working with internal teams to ensure successful, smooth and timely delivery of projects (project manager, studio, development and consultancy)
  • Designing a critical project path with the client, with a view to fulfilling this requirement at project kick-offs
  • Ensuring that critical path is delivered and flexed where necessary
  • Championing the client within the business
  • Gaining intimate knowledge of the agencys products and services
  • Ability to identify opportunities mid-project, e.g. products and services that could improve customer experience and increase scope
  • Attending consultancy and design meetings (both internal and with the client) to ensure a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the clients project
  • About You A minimum of 2 years B2B Account Management experience through to SAM level.
  • A real hunger to learn and excited by the learning journey
  • Confidence to ask the right questions and apply critical thinking to different internal and client scenarios
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbally and written you must be able to communicate at all levels of an organisation
  • An ability to build strong interpersonal relationships, both with clients and delivery teams within Jones and Palmer
  • Strong organisational skills: you must be able to work to strict deadlines and negotiate timelines to ensure on-time delivery
  • Experience working on large, complex projects
