Role IntroductionThe role of the IT Build and Logistics Engineer Level 2, is to deliver a high level of customer service to our customers on Inchcape UK supported devices.There will be occasional travel to our equipment storage site in Stoke (travel expenses covered) required to complete stock checks and accept/arrange occasional large deliveries. A full UK driving licence with own transport will be required to accommodatethis requirementCore Support hours are between 08:00 - 18:00 Mon-Fri (7.5 hour working day/37.5 hours per week (1hr lunch).Main Duties
  • Manage requests in the ITSM, from creation through to resolution; making sure to include detailed updates and notes.
  • Maintain stock lists and update accordingly
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with the 1st Line support, Technical Resolution (2nd line support), Field Support and IT Procurement teams. As well as all key internal stakeholders and customers within the business.
  • Build, configure and distribute Inchcape equipment (PCs, Laptop and mobile devices) to the business
  • Logistics activity - Book Collections, track shipments, and take deliveries as required
  • Repair and maintenance of PCs and Laptops
Level 2 Additional Duties
  • Asset and inventory management of IT Hardware across the UK and Global business.
  • Ownership of communication between IT Procurement and end users in coordination of BLC activities.
  • Daily monitoring of request and incident queue, to ensure all are progressed through to completion.
  • Secure disposal of IT kit.
  • Ownership of Courier services (City Sprint)
  • Manage IT Service request process from quotation through to delivery and invoice stage. (helping with my queue and processing BAU orders)
  • Windows 11 project rollout
  • Provide annual leave cover for our IT Procurement co-ordinator
  • Ownership of end-to-end process for procurement configuration and coordination of the deployment of hardware from the newly provisioned Build and Logistics Centre at Inchcape’s head office in Solihull.
  • Point of escalation for hardware enquiries
The Ideal CandidateCandidates must have experience of working in an IT support environment. ITIL Service Management at Foundation level is desirable. They must have experience of working within a high-pressured environment, bringing a calming influence through their levelof knowledge.The ideal candidate can show proven dedication to providing user satisfaction through first class service. It is essential that candidates can communicate clearly, accurately and patiently, at different levels, both verbally and in writing.Must have previous experience in the following:
  • Windows 10 or 11
  • Imaging/building/repairing of laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
  • Basic support of Desktop / Laptops
  • Basic mobile device support (iPads / iPhones / Android phones)
  • Experience with O365 (basic administration experience desirable)
  • Confident communication with all levels of staff
  • Good understanding of GDPR and IT security best practises.
Desirable experience/knowledge:
  • Hands on IT support in the automotive industry
  • Familiarity with any of the following:
    • Manage Engine Service Desk Plus (ITSM)
    • Manage Engine Desktop Central (Endpoint management, imaging, application deployment)
    • WorkspaceOne (MDM)
