We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Service Analyst to join our client, a leading Food Manufacturer based at their Head Office in Birmingham.Role: Data Services AnalystSalary: Circa 35,000Location: BirminghamPurpose of the role:The Data Service Analyst will ensure high class end to end Data Services design, enhancement and deployment to the business and provide subject matter expertise across all areas of Data Services.Duties:You will provide a level of expertise in finance to the IT function (in conjunction with Business Systems colleagues), allowing the IT function to understand the context around requests for data whilst ensuring that the level of service availability for the provision of data is matched to or exceeds the current and future agreed needs of the business, in a cost-effective manner.You will provide input to the IT strategy and work with the IT Management team to give recommendations for improvements in the delivery of data services, focus on ensuring commitments related to service (SLA) and change (Project and Change Implementation) are met.Lead the rationalisation, remediation, and consolidation of data services within the existing portfolio balancing short term needs with longer term convergence. Assist in the development of the IT policies and standards covering Data Services and ensure appropriate steps are taken to ensure compliance with IT standards and policies.Work closely with Business and IT Stakeholders to develop required group and local solutions aligned with corporate strategies and create positive relationships with stakeholders through the appropriate management of their expectations and agreed objectives.Design, build, test in development and promote to live new and modified services using the defined change management process and support SLA delivery for Incident Management and Request Fulfilment Completion of improvement actions through the provision of expert advice and guidance for any data services.The ideal candidate will be degree educated within an IT related discipline and be able to demonstrate a background within IS, you will have experience within the relevant functional area of expertise and experience of data services within the Microsoft technology stack is essential along with report writing and design.Hands on experience of Microsoft SQL Server is essential and exposure to Progress/OpenEdge database technologies is desirable.You will have a good understanding of report writing principles and the ability to communicate at all levels with an excellent customer facing manner. Experience within an IT service management environment is also highly desirable.It would be highly advantageous to have previous experience in a Finance/Accounting environment along with ITIL v3 and Prince2 foundation level qualifications.Occasional travel to other locations within the business is required Required skills
