Job Description

My client is a housing association in Birmingham, they are seeking a communication officer to join their teamHybrid working availableAllowence for company carPurpose:The purpose of the Communications Officer is to deliver a first class integrated communications platform to staff, tenants, customers and stakeholders using the full mix of channels and to ensure that the business has a strong, clear and consistent brand.The Communications Officer will have responsibility for delivering both internal and external campaigns, projects and day to day activity across the full spectrum of marcomms.Skills and Experience

  • Experience of delivering and managing highly effective communications and marketing projects and activities for a large and complex organisation.
  • Evidence of strong ICT skills including experience of using Microsoft Office and SharePoint, website content management systems (Finetune or Wordpress) and design software (Adobe CS).
  • Both Window and Mac proficient.
  • Evidence of experience in producing designed materials, newsletters, magazines, promotional materials and press releases.
  • Experience of using a range of communications and marketing techniques to deliver projects.
  • Experience of managing and prioritising multiple communications and marketing projects, including managing budgets and external suppliers.
  • Knowledge of new media opportunities.
  • Experience of copywriting.
  • Evidence of strong organisational skills.
  • Evidence of organising and arranging events.
  • Experience of advising senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • An understanding of the public sector environment.
  • Knowledge of the housing, care and support sectors.
  • Evidence of internal communications experience.
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative flair and imagination.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive issues with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work effectively.
  • Work well in a team, including those outside of the department and the organisation, as well as being comfortable working alone.
  • Be comfortable with our organisations values and be happy to demonstrate these values in action in your work.
  • Have an understanding of and commitment to the principles of equality and diversity.
  • An ability to communicate with staff and teams at all levels across the Group.
