Our client is seeking a Court of Protection Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their team in Birkenhead Merseyside on a hybrid basis.Skills and Experaince• At least 3 years’ experience of conduct of deputyship files• Admitted solicitor or legal executive or equivalent• Good knowledge of law relevant to Deputyship and Court of Protection requirements• Knowledge of statutory duties relevant to Court of Protection and deputyship files• Competent in the use of Microsoft word and outlook• Having conduct of trauma led deputyship cases• Working with electronic case management systems• Working with trade unions• Ability to provide informal guidance to junior staff as required.• The job holder will be expected to conduct and manage all aspects of their caseload, including taking appropriate decisions involving the exercise of judgment, and to carry out work on other team members’ cases as required.Duties• Assisting on all aspects of Professional Deputyship matters from application to dealing with the administration of the Deputyship.• Managing a caseload of professional and lay deputyship clients• Preparing and submitting lay deputyship applications to the Court of Protection• Preparing and submitting professional deputyship applications, trustee applications and interim/urgent applications to the Court of Protection• Providing advice regarding the Court of Protection to union clients via the free legal advice service• Liaising with case managers, carers, clients and their familiesPlease Note: Due to the number of applications we receive we may be unable to respond to every application directly.If you have not heard from us within 3 working days, please assume your application has been unsuccessful.Required skills
