Job Description

About The RoleA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Learning & Development Specialist at Sunbelt Rentals UK. You’ll work closely with the Head of Learning and Development to develop and deliver L&D interventions aligned to the successful delivery of the L&D strategy and changing business needs. You will support the strategic plan to ensure that current and future skill gaps are met by proactively developing both new and existing employees.Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Provide L&D advice to the business
  • Maintain the Learning Management System and eLearning content to ensure that it supports the changing development requirements of the business
  • Maintain the Performance Review System and implement effective processes to report and track reviews, providing guidance and training to Managers
  • Assist in the identification and development of HiPo candidates through an effective succession management approach
  • Manage the existing Apprenticeship Scheme ensuring apprenticeship providers and standards are fit for purpose
  • Introduce a Graduate Scheme that develops the future leaders of Sunbelt Rentals
  • Create and facilitate a company-wide work experience programme utilising the ‘Kick Start Government Scheme’ and ‘Traineeships’
    • About The CandidateTo be a successful Learning & Development Specialist you will be experienced in a similar role working for a large multi-site business.You will be comfortable working under pressure to tight deadlines whilst still maintaining a professional and approachable manner. You will effectively represent the business to customers and external federations in all situations and comfortably work as part of a wider team.The Ideal candidate will have the following;Required
  • Previous experience in a similar role operating as a Specialist within an L&D function in a multi-site organisation
  • CIPD Level 5 Qualification or equivalent
  • Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent
  • Clean driving licence
  • Past experience of coaching key stakeholders/apprentice line managers & mentors
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
    • Desirable
  • Experienced in LMS system development and eLearning– maximising technologies Experience of managing an Apprenticeship Levy
  • Previous Early Careers experience in a fast paced organisationBehavioural/Skill Requirements
  • High level of impact and influence and the ability to build relationships internally and externally
  • A flexible approach within the role. Able to adapt to individual and operational change in a diverse and fast-paced organisation
  • High level of integrity and trust
  • Self-motivated and conscientious
  • Excellent organisational skills. Able to prioritise work load, work under pressure and to deadlines

    • This is a regional role across a wide geographical area.
