Job Description

Also to support the continued development of scenario modelling and longer term portfolioplanning.This role will ensure that at all levels of planning, whether IT Strategic Planning or Project level, there is a clear process in place, with appropriate planning tools provided. This role will also support the IT Planning and Governance Manager to set theplanning standards and ways of working to enable core IT functions to deliver value in an effective and efficient way to NNL. This role is hybrid with some physical time at Chadwick House. Working hours are 39 hours Main Responsibilities Main Responsibilities for IT Planner:

  • Provide IT with joined up change plan that encompasses all levels of change, from strategic to project change. This includes responsibility for the development and ongoing maintenance of the wider IT change plan.
  • Support with providing and championing planning standards across the wider IT function.
  • Responsible for the ongoing analysis and progress reporting against the change plan. This includes providing timely analysis and the development of reporting processes up to the IT senior team. Reporting also includes trend data, monitoring critical pathactivities and meaningful ongoing reporting.
  • Support the IT Planning & Governance Manager in prioritisation across IT through establishing and managing strategic planning principles and processes.
  • Support with the development and implementation of the workforce management strategy across the IT organisation.
  • Support with the continuous improvement of planning capability across the IT organisation.
  • Stay abreast of planning development in terms of methodology in the wider IT marketplace. Understand whether there are learnings we can bring into NNL IT and how we implement them.
  • Responsible for developing key stakeholder relationships across the IT function.
  • Support the IT Planning & Governance Manager with general process improvement across all of IT, including the implementation of changes.
  • Support the projects managers across IT with the development of resourcing plans.
  • Responsible for the standardisation of ways of working. Overseeing standardising or planning processes and capability across IT.
Ideal Candidate Essential Criteria for IT Planner:
  • Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years worth of UK residency).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to develop, maintain and enhance relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good working knowledge and proficient in the use of Microsoft Project, Enterprise Project Management (EPM) or MSP PPM / Project Online.
  • Good understanding of project, programme and portfolio governance.
  • Demonstrable analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to connect the dots across IT and the wider organisation.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent presentation skills and proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Visio.
  • Experience of delivering planning support services on a varied range of projects and/or programmes.
  • Experience of utilising project collaboration software, e.g. Sharepoint, etc.
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Experience in a similar role.
Desirable Criteria for IT Planner:
  • Experience of the nuclear sector and/or public sector environment.
  • Relevant qualification in Project Management or Process Improvement.
