About the Company:SFM is an innovative Coventry-based B2B supplier of gelling fibres & fabrics for the advanced wound care industry. We offer a range of wound care technologies and all our products are manufactured in ISO certified clean rooms in line with the highest standardsof care.Currently an exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic Commercial Manager to join and support Commercial team.About the Role:This is an exciting role for someone who enjoys engaging with customers, delivering excellent customer service, passionate about sales and being the person who liaises with all departments internally to make it all happen!The role will have a focus on improving the On Time Delivery in Full (OTIF) of SFM by supporting the order management process and working closely with the SFM Board, and other departments.Commercial Manager Duties to include:
  • The focus of the role is to manage customer accounts and grow these accounts organically:
    • Ensure that orders are delivered on time and in full to customers
    • Monitor that all orders are accurately input and that delivery dates have been allocated
    • Track your portfolio performances in terms of margins and revenue progress to plan.
    • Deliver on KPIs per agreed objectives and plan, such as OTIF, customer feedback, sales and margins.
    • Manage converting, packaging, sterilisation and distribution suppliers by defining stock levels
    • Manage and build a strong relationship with your customers
    • Support the customer complaints process
    • Provide support to the Business Development Team in relation to onboarding new accounts
    • Ensuring sample stores stock levels are maintained.
    • Attend exhibitions as and when
    • Continually assess SFMs website and marketing material for improvements.
    • The role does include an element of business development.
    • Management of the commercial assistant allocated to the role
  • In addition, the Commercial Manager will ultimately be asked to work with the Managing Director:
    • Assist the Managing Director with reporting requirements
    • Assist the Managing Director with new opportunities.
    • Support the budget and forecast process for sales at SFM.
Key skills / abilities:
  • At least 7 years experience in a similar role.
  • The ability to learn quickly.
  • Enthusiasm, and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure customers are satisfied and sales targets are met.
  • Passionate about results and success.
  • Previous industrial, manufacturing experience, preferably in a medical device organisation, most preferably in wound care.
  • Ability to develop and uphold good working relationship and influence people both internally and externally to achieve assigned objectives.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal, flexible attitude and capable of working to tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Awareness of medical device regulations, The Medical Device Directive, ISO13485, FDA QSR 21 CFR 820 etc.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to meet customers / attend international scientific or trade conferences.
