Job Description

We currently have 22 luxury care homes across England and Walesand expanding with new commissioning homesHead of Dementia Attractive Basic Salary plus car or allowance and excellent benefits packageBased : Central Support Office Billericay , Essex/Remote working from home with national travel across the UKJob PurposeTo develop the Hallmark dementia vision for the company and define an overall dementia strategy .You will be Implementing and continually developing the ‘Together’ dementia care strategy across Hallmark Care Homes and supporting the Operational Team withthe knowledge, skills and experience to support dementia care delivery at home level.Working with the Learning and Development Team developing and supporting team members to deliver excellent dementia care. Supporting Dementia Care Managers to lead the delivery of the ‘Together’ dementia strategy within the Dementia communities. The rolewill encompass managing a national and regional team of regional dementia practitioners, researcher in residence, and a wellbeing manager.Attendance will be required contributing to monthly operations board meetings and providing periodic reports to General Managers, Regional Directors and Executive Board on the impact of Hallmark’s dementia care approach. As Head of Dementia representationwill be required through research, attendance and delivery of presentations at the National and International forums/conferences for the development of excellence in dementia care.Most importantly, daily working within the framework and advocating Hallmark Care Homes family core values: Openness, Individuality, Quality, Togetherness and GrowthPerson SpecificationEssential Qualifications• Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject• Evidence of CPD in dementia studies at degree level• Recognised teaching and learning qualification ideally PGCert Ed or PCEExperience• Extensive specialist experience of leading and managing services for people living with dementia.• Proven track record of implementing a dementia care strategy and improving dementia standards.• Evidence based understanding of current dementia developments, and actively engaged in or planning research to develop future initiatives for dementia care.• Proven track record of delivering results through leadership and working in partnership with multidisciplinary teams.Skills/Knowledge• Excellent leadership and people development/management skills• Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills• Knowledge of producing strategic plans and timely reporting on outcomes• Understanding of Relationship Centred Care and commitment to delivery of the relationship centred dementia Strategy• Understanding the requirements and obligations in relation to the Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding and care regulatory frameworks• Knowledge of, and competence in use of Microsoft Office applications and Windows based operating systems.What benefits do we offerAs well as competitive salaries we offer some great benefits including:33 days holidayOptional health care planPrivate medical insuranceWorkplace PensionOngoing career training and developmentMultiple discounts at food and retail outlets
