SF Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Sales Engineer on a full-time basis based in Nottinghamshire. This role would be in the perfect for locations for candidates based in Nottingham, Mansfield, Leicester, Birmingham and the surrounding areas! Are you an experienced Sales Engineer, ideally with knowledge of smart building technology or perhaps youre an experienced engineer with a proven track record in sales in a similar or related industry (Software, Technical Manufacturing) Youll need to bea natural networker, capable of building strong, long-term relationships with your customers and becoming their trusted adviser. Main Responsibilities - Focus all efforts on generating the required level of sales revenue, following processes diligently and reviewing progress regularly with line manager. - Build strong, long-term relationships with customers, earning trusted adviser status. - Gain and maintain a good working knowledge of the companys products and the equipment operated by our customers. - Carry out thorough research, meticulously planning and preparing for every site visit, email and phone call. - Maintain a high level of commercial awareness; identify opportunities and avoid potential problems. - Manage enquiries in a professional, accurate and timely manner. - Actively promote the organisations products and services on social media. Attend exhibitions. - Work with other departments as necessary to make the most of every opportunity. - Cross-sell the products of other sales department when the opportunity arises. Key Skills/qualities - 2+ years of experience in sales in the IT, Software, or Electronics Industry, Engineering. - Ability to listen well, empathetic. Curious, asks questions. - Superb communicator, both verbally and in writing (call plans, reports, emails, making presentations). Avoids jargon and difficult concepts and knows when to listen rather than talk. A natural networker. - Well-turned out, likeable and honest. Always makes a positive impression. - Intelligent - understands how to use a value proposition to full effect to win the sale; never focussed solely on price. - Patient and tenacious, hungry to achieve targets. Ambitious and highly motivated to succeed. - Independent, confident and resilient, likes to take the initiative. - Strategic thinker. Adaptable - can find a different route to a positive outcome when required. - Strong multi-tasker, excellent attention to detail. - Full, clean driving licence.
