Cable Technician required in Biggleswade.(Full Time/Part Time)Introduction: Our client started trading in 1997 and makes Cable-forms, Populates P.C.B.s and builds electronic and mechanical assemblies and systems.They are a small company currently employing ten full-time staff.Therefore, the successful applicant will work in a small but friendly environment within a team not just committed to satisfying customers requirements but exceeding them. You may be required to start and stop, run jobs in parallel and take over other peopleswork from time to time.Work can be repetitive, and the same job may take days, weeks or even months to complete.The working environment is clean and tidy, and all tooling, stationary, and protective equipment "if required" will be provided.Essential:The successful applicant must have previous cabling experience in an electronic or mechanical assembly environment.Know how to strip and terminate wire and cable ends, solder and crimp to a high standard and understand the differences between a good and bad solder joint and crimp termination.Be familiar with Heat shrink and various sleeving and braiding products, and Identify wires using cable markers, labels, and ties.Feel competent using hand tools and automated wire preparation machinery and equipment.Build Cables from a drawing or sample, read and understand wiring diagrams and schedules, and follow written procedures.Capable of working under pressure and being prepared to complete jobs on time.Have good eyesight and a steady hand.Some familiarizations with modern manufacturing techniques and components would also be desirable.Responsibilities: To build custom and bespoke cable assemblies, wiring looms, harnesses, conduits, and umbilicals. Assemble, wire and test products to customers wiring schedules, drawings, samples or procedures. Any other duties consider relevant to theabove.Update drawings or write build notes and procedures if and when required.Knowledge of various cable termination methods and components and any other electronic experience would be a significant advantage.Experience: A good understanding of electronic and mechanical practices and principles is essential.Sickness: The employers will provide statutory Sick Pay (S.S.P.) at the appropriate rate. This will only be paid on days you would typically work.Hours: Full Time - Hours of work are 8.00 pm to 4.00 pm Monday to Friday; Overtime may be offered; however, this is at the Employers discretion.Benefits: On-site parking is available, and you will automatically be enrolled in the Governments Workplace Pension scheme.
