Job Description

Our client, a leading global Food manufacturing business has an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to be responsible for implementing and delivering procurement strategies across key spend areas and ensuring total cost-effective purchasing.Key responsibilities:

  • Develop sourcing and category plans which deliver cost leadership, innovation, process, and product improvement.
  • Ensuring continuous supply of raw materials and the delivery of procurement projects in a timely manner.
  • Negotiate and manage purchasing contracts including payment terms.
  • Monitor and review supplier performance and develop continuous improvement plans to ensure quality and service expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Be the first point of escalation for Raw Material supply issues and to liaise with suppliers, find alternative materials to meet customers requirements
Candidate requirements:
  • A degree in Food Science, Procurement, Supply Chain, Commerce or equivalent
  • At least 2 to 3 years Buying, Purchasing or Procurement experience within a Food manufacturing environment
  • Strategic sourcing experience
  • Ability to negotiate and engage effectively with suppliers
Salary will be circa £35K to £45K + Benefits25 leave days + 8 bank holidaysHybrid remote working option, travelling to the Bedfordshire office 3 days a week
