Job Description

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER / STOKE / COMPETITIVE PAY + BENEFITSIf you are an experienced Manufacturing Engineer, looking for an exciting new challenge, working alongside a fantastic team.Rapiscan Systems is an industry leader in detection technology, providing cargo and vehicle inspection systems and services for ports, borders, military, high-threat facilities, and checkpoints to help customers combat terrorism, drug smuggling,illegal immigration, and trade fraud.The successful Manufacturing Engineer will ensure all products are consistently manufactured to specification, making certain that manufacturing BOMs are accurate, structured and that any engineering drawings correctly convey informationrequired for swift and precise manufacture.Whats on Offer

Key Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer:
  • Be responsible for structuring and ensuring accuracy of Production BOMs, Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Working practices.
  • Responsible for the ECR/ECN process for changes to manufacturing drawings and detailed schematics.
  • Responsible for recommending shopfloor layouts to ensure optimum workflow.
  • Liaising with R&D and engineering departments to ensure all requirements and standards are fully understood.
  • Key player in the New Product Introduction process ensuring a smooth transition into Manufacture.
  • Producing mechanical designs for any Production tools and fixtures required within manufacturing.
  • Minimise impact on the environment through reduction of waste, correct storage of items. Support the use of recycled products and promoting Environmental policy and the processes required to demonstrate compliance of ISO14001.
  • Operate in accordance with the requirements of ISO9001 audited quality system.
  • Provide technical support to Production, Sales, Service and Customer Support.
  • To understand and apply relevant design, regulatory and industry standards.
  • Supporting Production Manager where necessary.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Essential that you have an excellent grasp of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
  • Good understanding of welding, fabricating and assembly methods.
  • Continually strive for technical excellence.
  • Experience of design for manufacture, with a background in a production environment is preferred.
  • Experience of Six-Sigma/LEAN methodology and application is desirable.
