Job Description

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Early Years Foundation StageLocation: Bexley, Kent close to BexleyheathSalary: CompetitiveContract Type: Full-Time, TemporaryStart Date: November 2023We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a larger-than-average primary school in the borough of Bexley. The successful candidate will be working in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), supporting a child with general learningneeds who is working at a lower level for their age.

  • Provide one-to-one support to a child in the EYFS with general learning needs
  • Assist the child with their personal care requirements as necessary
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) in conjunction with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to provide a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
  • Contribute to the childs progress reports and communicate with parents/carers as necessary
Person Specification:
  • A qualified Teaching Assistant or Nursery Nurse with experience supporting children with special educational needs
  • Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and assessment framework
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children
