An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Sheltered Housing Officer to join one of Adeccos most improved public sector clients in a temporary role until the end of June 2023.Based in Bexley in South-East London and covering two sheltered schemes locally, this role is for 35 hours each week (Monday to Friday) and the overall objective of the post holder will be to deliver an intensive housing management accommodation based serviceto sheltered tenants, through a patch type service delivery.Other key elements of the role include:* Maintaining contact with elderly tenants and ensuring any cases of anti-social behaviour are dealt with in line with policy.* Carrying out regular walkthroughs of sheltered schemes to ensure security of the building.* Assisting tenants to raise repairsThe ideal candidate will have experience of working with independent older people in sheltered/retirement living, to deliver landlord/housing management services. Theyll be competent with CRM / IT recording systems and have good experience of tenancy andestate management, including managing ASB, ending tenancies for bereavement, dealing with vulnerabilities and safeguarding, completing estate inspections.The role will include making remote welfare calls to our clients most vulnerable residents, each morning Monday- Friday. Experience of this is not essential but candidates should be aware that this is a part of the role, as they could need to travel tothe scheme if there was no response/ an emergency. The successful candidate would not deliver the emergency response if, for example, someone has fallen, but would alert emergency services and may need to enter the home. They would ideally be local enoughto travel to Bexley, as theyll normally be on site 2 or 3 days per week. Other time will mostly be working from home.The successful candidate really need to have a good, strong experience in housing management and tenancy issues, as this is critical on these two sites.
