SEND Youth Worker - September 2020 Start - BexleyPlease note * Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, Empowering Learning have been receiving a vast amount of requests for staff for SEN Schools and Key Worker Staffed Schools as well as for both full time and part time opportunities for a September 2020 start *

  • Empowering Learning is seeking dedicated Youth Support Workers to work in SEND educational settings across Bexley Our schools are looking for Youth Support Workers that have experience in coaching, mentoring, and lending assistance in classroom settings. Ideal candidates must feel comfortable dealing with challenging behaviour from students with a range of additional SEND and be able to show a calm and engaging approach. Experience of working with children or adults in an education setting isnt essential, but a willingness to learn new coaching skills to improve behaviour and development is critical. All long-term positions are for a September 2020 start date.Job Responsibilities
  • Supporting SEND students at all age ranges and attainment levels* Ability to engage and support pupils across activities and learning* Supporting in both group work and 1:1 support
  • Supervising, coaching and mentoring behaviour of pupils

  • Job Requirements
  • Experience of supporting children or young adults with challenging behaviour and SEND
  • Able to stay calm and de-escalate challenging Behaviour
  • Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
  • Available 5-days a week and able to commit to at least 1-6 months
