Job Description

Secondary School with an ASD Provision in the Greenwich borough is currently recruiting for a Maths Learning Support Assistant (LSA) /SEN Teaching Assistant. Immediate full-time permanent position.Medium sized Secondary School with state-of-the-art facilities and exceptional ASD Provision. Senior Leadership Team and Middle Managers are supportive & focused practitioners within their field. Essentially the teaching & support staff at this school are good’ to outstanding’ practitioners, consistent and make a real difference to their students. They have been rated Good via ofsted with outstanding features. They offer education at KS3, KS4 & KS5 levels.Exciting opportunity for a full-time permanent Maths Learning Support Assistant (LSA)/ Senior Behaviour TA/ SEN TA / Behaviour HLTA / Teaching Assistant who essentially has experience with pupils with SEN and behaviour difficulties. Additionally, you will be proficient in English also. It is imperative that you have a minimum of A - C Grade Maths and English. In this post, the client is looking for someone who has experience assisting pupils at KS3 & KS4 levels in both Maths & English. As this is a Learning Support Assistant role so you must have experience working in a similar post as either a SEN Teaching Assistant/ LSA / HLTA/ Behaviour Mentor / Maths Tutor. You will have had some experience with SEN/ ASD/ SEMH/ ADHD pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.

  • Minimum of 6 months as either a Maths LSA/ SEN TA/ HLTA/ Tutor
  • Can build a really strong rapport with SEN students (ieASD/ ADHD/ SEMH/ etc)
  • Must have a minimum of A-C GCSE grades in both Maths and English
  • Experience with KS3 & 4 students on a 1:1 basis & small groups (Maths and English)
  • You are confident in a support role to be left alone to deal with a student who is disruptive.
