Secondary HLTALOCATION: Stepney, Tower HamletsSTART: September 2023CONTRACT: PermanentThe Tower Hamlets Education Recruitment Service a motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic secondary school in Tower Hamlets.The ideal candidate will facilitate the learning and development of students in a secondary school setting. As a HLTA, you will work closely with teachers, providing support both inside and outside the classroom.This school is a church of England and multi-faith school that operates with ‘high standards of behaviour, discipline and attainment’. This school has committed teachers and support staff and has been OFTSTED rated as ‘Outstanding’Responsibilities:• Assisting with lesson planning and preparation: You may help teachers in preparing instructional materials, setting up equipment, and organising resources needed for lessons.• Delivering lessons or small-group activities: Depending on your expertise and experience, you may have the opportunity to lead lessons or deliver targeted interventions to small groups of students under the guidance of the teacher.• Providing one-on-one support: You might work with individual students who require extra assistance, whether its helping them with specific academic subjects, developing study skills, or supporting their social and emotional well-being.• Supervising students: You may be responsible for supervising students during non-classroom times, such as lunch breaks or study periods, ensuring their safety and maintaining a positive learning environment.• Assessing and tracking student progress: You might assist in assessing and monitoring students progress, including grading assignments, providing feedback, and maintaining records to support the teacher in tracking individual student achievements.• Supporting students with special educational needs: You may work closely with students who have special educational needs or disabilities, adapting materials and activities to meet their individual requirements and providing personalized support.• Collaborating with teachers and other professionals: You will collaborate with teachers, school staff, and external professionals, such as educational psychologists or speech and language therapists, to ensure the students needs are met effectively.Requirements:• Degree qualification or Higher-level teaching Assistant qualification• Experience as a Cover Supervisor or teaching support experience within KS3 & KS4.• Enhanced DBS• Demonstrates commitment.• Must be able to commute to Tower Hamlets.Benefits of working with Reed Education:• Competitive pay rates• 24/7 access to a personal consultant who is an expert in Education recruitment• The ability to sign up to our REED rewards, discount, and pension schemes• Access to a huge range of teaching opportunities through our network of branches across England and Wales.If this sounds like a role that you would like, please forward us your most recent CV by clicking ‘Apply Now’ for immediate consideration.
