Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 SupportAre you a bright, driven graduate who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young peopleA fantastic Primary School in the borough of Bexley is looking for SEN Teaching Assistants to support in the classroom. This is a full-time, long term position commencing January 2023Positions that are available include:

  • SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism support in KS1
  • SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 support in KS2
  • SEN Teaching Assistant - Behaviour support in KS1
This SEN Teaching Assistant role is a fantastic opportunity for a Psychology/Criminology/ Social Sciences graduate to gain first-hand experience before pursuing a career in Psychology, Youth Mentoring, Social work, Counselling etcWhy is this SEN Teaching Assistant ideal for a recent Psychology/Criminology/ Social Sciences graduate
  • Gain a full years experience in primary school supporting children with SEN
  • Working alongside professionals such as Speech and Language therapists and SENCo.
  • Regular training alongside class teachers + additional support/ training for SEN
  • Future teacher training opportunities
SEN Teaching Assistant - Job Description
  • Supporting children with a range of SEN (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia etc)
  • Using initiative to create new learning opportunities
  • Working across EYFS/KS1/KS2
  • Working in small groups/ 1:1 setting to motivate pupil and make their learning exciting and accessible!
  • Liaise with classroom teacher and SENCo to ensure pupil progress
  • Located in Bexley
  • Long term, full-time position starting February 2023
  • £85 - £100 a day
SEN Teaching Assistant - Person Specification
  • 1st Class or 2:1 degree
  • Good understanding of SEN is desirable
  • Experience with children with SEN (personal or professional)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Resilient and open-mindedness
