Job Description

Purpose of the Nursery Room Leader Post:
  • To assist the nursery managers and deputy managers in providing professional leadership and management of the nursery.
  • To deliver the nursery own EYFS curriculum
  • To deliver the highest standards of care and education and manage resources effectively.
  • To be a role model to the staff team. The room leader must be able to showcase high quality practice with regards to individual and group work with children, dealing with staff and parent issues as they arise.
  • To take responsibility alongside the nursery management team for the safety, security, and well-being of all children, staff, and visitors always.
  • To support the management team to ensure that safeguarding procedures are followed in line with Bexley local authority and nursery procedures.
The candidate:
  • Must hold a minimum NVQ level 3 in childcare
  • Must have an excellent understanding of the EYFS and child development
  • Achieved a minimum of 2-3 years experience as a Senior practitioner in a childcare setting
  • The ability to work extremely well as a team leader
