Job Description

The Role… Warehouse Operative based at DFDS Logistics in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and fast paced, growing business. The role is reporting to the Shift Manager and Team Leader and will involve all aspectsof the warehousing process, including receipt of goods, picking, assembling and loading customer orders. Use of Manual Handling Equipment (MHE) and customer specific Warehouse Management Systems will be integral to the role. Focus on providing a high levelof customer service whilst acting in accordance with legislative requirements and company policy. The working hours will be Tuesday - Saturday 10:30 to 18:30.Principal Responsibilities:

  • Receive, pick, assemble & load orders, & tranship, in line with customer requirements, depot KPIs & agreed performance and quality standards
  • Work accurately and handle customer stock with care and consideration to minimise damages and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Operation of customer specific Warehouse Management Systems
  • Work to pre-determined customer schedules ensuring loads are prepared in a timely manner
  • Adhere to instructions and training guidelines regarding manual handling and the use of MHE, including pre-operational checks, reporting of defects, and the safe use and operation of all equipment
  • Conduct tasks and activities in accordance with health & safety, food hygiene practices and environmental procedures
  • Work in a temperature-controlled environment, ensuring stock is checked on receipt and stored at the correct temperature
  • Work in a team environment and supporting other team members, treating all with dignity and respect
  • Complete operational documents appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Carry out any other duties and reasonable management requests
Essential Criteria
  • Ability to read, understand and follow instructions & work procedures be health & safety aware
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines & targets.
  • MHE licences including reach and counterbalance forklift (desirable, not essential)
