£28,000 - £30,000Great geographical knowledge Are you an excellent communicator Previous planning experienceA fantastic opportunity at our Belfast operation has arisen and it could be the role for you!We are looking for a dynamic, goal driven person to join our Dry Freight Team, working a butterfly shift pattern 06:3018:30, (Week 1 you work Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun / Week 2 you work Wed, Thurs). The Transport Planner works as part of a small team andin line with DFDS, and our customer KPIs, to plan structured and cost-efficient delivery schedules throughout NI. A high standard of customer service, attention to detail, accurate reporting and effective communication is essential.You will be expected to plan the route of over 30 vehicles a day, to ensure they get to their destinations on time. You will work as a team to solve problems whilst conducting root cause analysis and driving improvements. The successful candidate shouldhave extensive experience in transport planning, within a similar environment and be able to create a cost-effective plan for collections & deliveries in the UK, which best fits our own trucking operation. This will include vessel bookings but ultimately,it is about meeting the needs of our business and customers, whilst ensuring compliance and regulations are adhered to. It is imperative you have excellent communication and customer service skills, as you will be overseeing sub-contractors & drivers withinthis role.You must have solid experience of using Microsoft packages such as Excel and Word, as you will be required to keep our internal systems current and populate our live planning information, regularly tracking our vehicles. We need you to be self-motivatedwith an ability to deal with fast-changing environments and the ability to be flexible with you approach is a must. This role does include a small amount of overtime when the business requires. The right candidate needs to have sound geographical knowledgeof the UK and awareness of vehicle safety legislation, EU driver hours and Working Time Regulations.Now about what we can give you.
