Are you passionate about customer service and have previous experience of providing this Do you have the ability & willingness to take on added responsibilities and learning Are youlooking for a role where you can communicate with a variety of customers, colleagues, and other key stakeholders If so, DFDS are looking for someone to join our dynamic & energetic team based in Belfast as a Transport Coordinator….Reporting to the Operations Manager, we are looking for a dynamic, goal driven person to join our Dry Freight Team, mainly working Monday to Friday 7pm-3am, with flexibility to go on to other shifts as needed. The Transport Planner works as part of a smallteam and in line with DFDS and our customer KPI’s, to plan structured and cost-efficient delivery schedules throughout NI, ROI & the UK. A high standard of customer service, attention to detail, accurate reporting and effective communication is essential.This role will be to cover all planning desks when needed.Duties and Responsibilities…

  • Plan structured collection and delivery schedules throughout NI, ROI & UK in line with DFDS key retail customer requirements
  • Accurately populate and maintain live planning’ information on in-house and customer systems
  • Allocate trailers and drivers whilst considering cost, customer service and resource availability
  • Manage subcontractors cost per mile and haulier non-compliance
  • Regular tracking of vehicles
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers and other key members of the team
  • Vessel planning
  • Support other planning areas when required as part of a cross-functional team environment
  • Maintain and update customer pricing agreements
Essential Criteria..
  • Experience in dealing with customers / drivers / hauliers
  • Excellent IT skills especially in use of Microsoft Excel
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines & targets
  • Awareness of vehicle safety legislation, EU driver hours and Working Time Regulations
  • Experience in prioritising a personal workload
