DescriptionThe Systems Engineer III ESP supports the Enterprise Server Platforms at CME Group. The incumbent must have knowledge of server(Windows or Linux) administration, configuration, troubleshooting, security, scripting, and networking. Strong communication and documentationskills are required as the candidate will typically be working with customers for support and new initiatives. Principal Accountabilities: • Analyzes requirements with supervision and supports existing development/QA and production platforms; Implements necessary hardware and software for project execution; Defines the environment scope for business requirements; Maintains and improves the stability,reliability and availability of environments; Documents deployment and configuration procedures. • Defines problems and describes the cause and effect relationship; Gathers and compares data about the problems with supervision and documents the details. Prepares analysis report and reviews with supervision; Participates in discussions with experiencedteam members to generate ideas for problem solving; Accurately defines the circumstances surrounding the decision point with supervision. • Demonstrates knowledge of intermediate systems (Linux/Windows), distributed computing architecture (client server, intranet/internet), h/w platforms, and resources - CPU, memory, virtualization, and clustering. Configures systems and modifies settings toensure proper functioning; Provides routine maintenance of systems. • Troubleshoots most of the known issues, determines the root cause, and works with senior team members on solutions and implementation; Verifies implementation and makes adjustments as necessary, providing input into resolution and documents solution.
