DescriptionThe Senior VoIP Systems Engineer focuses on the installation, support and maintenance of hardware and software in accordance with best practices. They have some light design experience and provide advanced troubleshooting. The individual in this position hasstrong voice and networking background. Will work with enterprise phones, TelePresence, telecom carrier services, call center applications, voice recording, server management, database and data networking. Excellent troubleshooting and communication skillsare required as the individual will be working with business stakeholders for support and new initiatives. Support 20% - Respond to second level escalation, providing on-call rotation in organization and hands-off changes. Audits and documents changes to the environment. Implements execution for new initiatives and expansion of existing infrastructures Engineering 20% - Respond to third level escalation, providing on-call rotation and advanced troubleshooting for endemic problems in the environment. Conduct lab verification of expected operational and technical behaviors. Implements planning for new initiativesand expansion of existing infrastructures Operational Management 30% o Perform daily telecom systems checks, system operation o Perform device/peripheral move, add, change, repair and trouble shooting of systems o Participate in IT Change control process o Off hour support o Aware of cable color codes & terminations o Oversee vendor support and maintenance o Follow and enhance established asset mgmt and inventory policy o Perform cross training o Particpate in DR testing, resolve issues and enhance plans o Infosec compliance- vulnerability identification and remediation o Manage implementation projects o Troubleshoot voice and network issues o Advanced administration and support of VoIP applications, gateways and endpoints, Unified Contact Center, video applications and endpoints, voice recording applications, server management, SQL database, virtualization, TDM & SIP telecom carrier services o Use time and resources efficiently during implementation o Accountable for department requirements and requests System design, build and planning 30% o Capacity Management o System integration planning and build o Quality Control and process improvement o Documentation creation and control o Project Planning and Management o Disaster recovery planning, build and execution o Monitoring Planning, build and control o Route planning, build o Configuration planning and build Skills & Software Requirements Telecom fundamentals, telecom carrier service, structured cabling, voice trunking, wireless Advance level knowledge of: - VoIP endpoints - Dial Plan concepts - Call Manager system administration - IVR/ACD - Voice specific protocols- SIP, MGCP, H.323 - Cisco CLI - Application patching - Wireshark Experience with: - R/S: OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, L2 architectures - VPN: IPSec and SSL - Security: Firewalling, ACLs, port security, Internet architectures - Load Balancing: F5 LB, iRules, persistence, etc. - Server Management and Virtualization CME Group: Where Futures Are Made CME Group (www.cmegroup.com) is the worlds leading derivatives marketplace.
