Job Description

Citi’s Chief Administrative Office (CAO) brings consistency and clarity to the way we work at Citi and our approach to regulation around the world. This role provides a unique opportunity to see across Citi as part of the CAO organization’s Global RegulatoryResponse team, which is responsible for establishing a globally consistent regulatory response management and interaction governance model that includes setting minimum standards for the management of regulatory responses, progress reports, and interactionsand governance of supervisory exam-related findings.TheRegulatory Remediation and Response Leadwill be part of Citi’s Global Regulatory Response and Oversight (“GRRO”) team and will report directly to the Global Head of Regulatory Response and Oversight.The Regulatory Remediation and Response Lead be responsible for managing, leading and overseeing regulatory responses (e.g., MRAs, MRIAs, other regulatory finding from non-prudential US regulators and foreign regulators).They are also responsible for ensuringbusiness, function, and region aligned response owners adhere to regulatory response standards and governance.Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive high-quality execution of individual responses (e.g., MRAs, MRIAs, other regulatory finding from non-prudential US regulators and foreign regulators), including setting ownership and accountability mechanisms, and providing credible challenge of thewritten responses from a quality and completeness perspective
  • Play integrative role for critical projects and remediation efforts that involve multiple businesses, functions, or regions, or that impact multiple key stakeholder groups
  • Provide advisory support to the businesses, functions, and regions, to create their part in the regulatory response
  • Ensure regulatory responses and remediation programs have a clear articulation of risk reduction and control enhancement impact
  • Implement, operate, and evolve the defined interaction and engagement model as determined by the Regulatory Response Governance and Standards
  • Support implementation of response management standards through regular stakeholder coaching (e.g., sharing best practices, educating on consistent approaches) and cadence of interactions
  • Provide transparency and communicate near term and longer-term approaches to key stakeholders for Response Management capability implementation based on availability and maturity of target state capabilities, tools, architecture, etc.
  • Provide input into CEO / Board / EMT reporting
  • Support the relationship and interactions with the Transformation Office (e.g., metrics, dashboard reporting, change management, etc.)
  • Draft and edit Citi responses and other related submission documents and participate in robust review sessions to refine drafts
  • Attend supervisory meetings, and ensure concerns are appropriately incorporated into Citi’s regulatory lifecycle management processes
  • Collect and aggregate inputs from key stakeholders and subject matter experts, and engage with internal and/or external counsel to refine regulatory submissions, ensuring all regulatory responses are in the spirit of the law
  • Accountable for evaluating and determining quality control key components of regulatory submissions
    • Ensure submissions appropriately reflect company risk transformation strategy
    • Ensure they reflect a consistent and integrated Citi point of view across Program Groups and across Articles / Paragraphs
    • Establish consistent submission timelines to ensure they are realistic, comprehensive, and achievable
    • Manage governance of the submission
    • Create and maintain a clear view/mapping between Program Groups and required regulatory findings
    • Contribute to designing and running functional challenge process
Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience working in a major bank and/or in a law firm preferred, including prior experience in legal technical writing, preferably at a global law firm
  • Substantial experience in regulatory policy, regulatory supervision or regulatory relations or in a role requiring deep regulatory understanding in large financial institutions
  • Significant experience in managing complex cross-company efforts – specific experience with managing major regulatory or legal submissions
  • Specific subject matter expertise regarding regulatory disciplines and a strong business understanding of financial services
  • Broad understanding of relevant banking regulation and supervisory expectations for complex global financial institutions
  • Track record of managing senior client or regulatory relationships and regulatory remediation programs at peer institution
  • Well-developed listening skills and a strong ability to engage at the executive management level by providing proactive support and advice on a variety of regulatory matters
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels within the organization including senior management, including effective influencing skills, a proactive and no surprises approach in communicating issues/requests
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in driving positive and sustained change
  • Ability to write clearly and think laterally to find solutions
  • Good business judgement and strong communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Experience and comfort with dynamic, changing environments
  • Self-driven and able to learn and adapt quickly
  • Proficiency with SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
