Summary As a Ranger, you’re the heart and soul of the National Trust in the landscapes we protect. You’re a champion of nature conservation and the great outdoors, and you’ll play a crucial role in keeping the nation’s beloved countryside and coast in good shape, for wildlife and for people. You should be willing to work some weekends, bank holidays and evenings, and be on call. What its like to work here Belfast is a busy portfolio with large visitor numbers containing priority habitats across 12 diverse countryside properties. From the Maritime Cliff & Slope on the coastline at Islandmagee, or the habitat mosaic in the Belfast Hillsthat includes areas of Purple Moorgrass & Rush Pasture, Blanket Bog and Upland Heath. To the beautiful Wooded Glens at Cregagh, Collin and Glenoe or rolling farmland at Minnowburn, Lisnabreeny and Rowallane with their meadows and woodlands on the City’s fringe, there is a wonderful diversity of habitats that ensure there is never a dull moment. What youll be doing You’ll be helping to protect and care for habitats, wildlife, buildings and machinery. You’ll pass on your knowledge and enthusiasm to encourage others to love this area as much as you do. Whenever and wherever you come across people, you’ll take the timeto talk to them and answer their questions, rather than rushing away to the next task. You’ll make sure that the conservation work and outdoor experiences on the land in your care are of the highest standard. You’ll build relationships in the local community, proudly representing the Trust and letting people know about the work you and theteam are doing. Please also read the full role profile, attached to this advert.
