DescriptionDescription: CME is looking for a highly talented QA Engineer to join the Engineering & Execution Team in Belfast as a Test Engineer. The successful candidate will help deliver mission-critical projects on CMEs GLOBEX electronic trading platform. The QA Engineer will workwith application SMEs, developers, and analysts to understand complex business problems. A key aspect of the role is contributing to the design of testing strategies and detailed test plans, and the implementation of the tests agreed by the team. We automateeverything. They enjoy working with an application where ultra-low latency performance, reliability, and security are paramount in addition to functional correctness. Principal Accountabilities Analyse and decompose business/stakeholder requirements. Involved in test strategy, planning & execution/implementation of automated test cases Act as an owner for application quality; own and drive bug resolution Maintain test framework, test environments and automated tests Contribute to continuous improvement, improving team processes and methodologies, and following best practices. Essential Criteria Bachelors degree (with honours) or equivalent/better strongly preferred, but substantial relevant experience could substitute. Experience in the development of automated testing solutions and frameworks An understanding of ATDD and/or BDD. Ability to understand complex business requirements quickly, and to define clear acceptance criteria using Given, When, Then syntax Basic competency with GIT Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent problem-solving skills Desirable Criteria Use of BDD technology like Cucumber Knowledge of financial markets, financial messaging protocols, and in particular FIX. Working in an Agile environment, using Confluence, JIRA, or other Atlassian tools.
