Job Description

RNIB’s Children, Young People, Families and Education team are part of RNIB services working with families, young people and education professionals directly to ensure that young people with vision impairment are able to access the same opportunities as their peers and realise their true potential.This role is for a Project Support Officer for Children, Young People and Families.Project Support Officer Responsibilities:We are looking for a co-ordinator of the “Our Futures” project, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund in partnership with Guide Dogs, to support young people who are blind or partially sighted across Northern Ireland, helping them to take on leadership roles within the project and to develop their skills.Working in partnership with Guide Dogs and with young people, you’ll facilitate positive relationships with the wider youth sector and local community in Northern Ireland.Project Support Officer Requirements:With a minimum of NVQ level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Childcare and Education, Youth Work and Young people, Youth and Justice or equivalent or with direct experience of working with blind and partially sighted children/young people, you will develop the “Our Futures” project within the Children, Young People and Families Team, to ensure it is fully integrated with our frontline services.The role offers the opportunity to respond to need and propose new resources or systems which would benefit young people with vision impairment.
