Techniche Global are supporting Engineering company on their Translink Rail project in appointing an experienced Project Accountant with previous Accountancy exposure to rail, engineering or construction projects.As a Project Accountant you will produce accurate and timely project financial information, ensuring robust financial controls, maximizing efficiency of processes and reporting, and maintaining strong corporate governance in line with group requirements. Youwill serve as a finance business partner to the Project and Commercial teams.The role is Hybrid working (3/2 day split) in Belfast.Key responsibilities of a Project Accountant* Work with the Finance Manager, Project Managers and Commercial Managers in improving and maintaining the processes used to operate and control project financial performance.* Deputise for the Finance Manager as appropriate.Ensure that Company policies are implemented consistently and that core values of the Company concerning people are upheld especially those concerned with fairness, equal opportunity and work-life balance.* Responsible for the timely and accurate recording, preparation and presentation of project financial information.* Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of all financial information presented at the Quarterly, Monthly or Weekly Project reviews.* Provide all the necessary financial requirements in a professional and timeous manner.* Provide ongoing financial advice and support to the Project Managers and their team.* Responsible for ensuring that costs to complete and their assumptions are properly supported and disclosed. Ensure that project financial forecasts are aligned with project programmes.* Ensure that projects operate an appropriate and effective set of financial controls complaint with the requirements of Babcock Rail.* Ensure that project risks and opportunities, mitigation plans and savings plans are properly calculated and disclosed at the project reviews. * Maintain effective systems and processes to enable the accurate recording of all project costs including contract and subcontractor accruals, outstanding purchase orders, GRNI, timesheet bookings, WBS and coding notifications etc.* Maintain the actual, budget and forecast financials for appropriate overhead costs centres. * Ensure that the projects adhere to an appropriate WBS structure and costs budget. Provide project variance analysis where appropriate.* Ensure that project cash flow is managed in the best interest of the business.* Ensure that adherence to financial accounting and commercial governance is maintained by the projects teams.* Provide information to the Internal and External Auditors for projects as and when required.* To undertake any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needsRequired Qualifications/Skills & Experience* Qualified Accountant, or qualified by experience.* Strong business/process analysis skills.* SAP knowlegdze* Excellent influencing and communication skills at all levels.* Project accounting experience.* Experience of working with Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors.* Ideally previous experience in engineering or construction industry.* Business/Customer FocusIf this role is of interest, Apply Now!
