Job Description

The Pearson Finance teams are currently looking for highly analytical, technical, creative and forward-thinking interns. In return, we will provide you with an unforgettable 9-week placement in a fast-paced, dynamic and international environment; it willboost your resume and will provide a superb introduction to finance and data analysis within the Global Ed-tech business.Together with the teams you join, youll help analyse the overall performance of Pearsons half year results and support for annual budgeting process. You will have the chance to put your analytical and technical skills to the test; youll be involved inreporting, forecasting and building KPI dashboards that will support senior stakeholders in their decision-making process.Key Deliverables

  • Responsible for assisting with Pearsons half year results
  • Responsible for learning from 2 placements, and sharing experiences with the other interns and wider finance community
  • Project work to deliver benefits for future internship programs and the forthcoming graduate and high performer scheme
  • Accountable for delivering tasks on time and to a high standard
  • Accountable for taking an active part in the program, participating and leading group sessions
  • Provide support for annual budgeting process
Assist with statistical analysis and other special projectEssential Skills /ExperienceCapture minimum of 5 essential skills / experience
  • Business/Accountancy/Finance related degree
  • Understanding of double entry accounting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft office tools
  • Highly motivated with a desire to learn

Skills & Qualifications
  • You are currently working towards a Business/Accountancy/Finance / economics or similar related degree
  • You must have the right to work in the country you are applying for.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. macros, pivot tables, complex formulas)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail, ability to do in-depth data mining, methodical approach to work while also seeking to understand the big picture
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-moving environment, and to meet tight deadlines and prioritise workload even when faced with conflicting priorities
  • Data visualisation skills, such as proficiency in Tableau, QlikView, PowerPivot, or MicroStrategy is beneficial
